JESUS SPEAKING
“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as the in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matthew 24: 37 – 39)
FAITHFUL THOUGHTS
Jesus likens His eventual second coming to the days of Noah and the flood. When the Lord returns the faithful will be saved but the wicked will be judged. According to Jesus Noah was an actual man and the ark was a genuine vessel. Additionally, He establishes that the global flood was an authentic historical event, as opposed to a symbolic metaphor.
Today there are countless individuals claiming to be Christian who deny that Noah lived and actively promote the belief that the flood account was simply an allegory (a fictional tale meant to teach a deeper lesson.) Clearly these heretical apostates are leading others astray. In fact, we are warned about these individuals in 2 Peter, 3 – 6. We read, “Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.’ For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.”
There are some who cannot comprehend the power of God, and in the midst of their ignorance they purpose to change the meaning of scripture to suit their own beliefs. They will struggle to chip away at the foundations of God’s truth, because if one part of the Bible is false then nothing is sacred and everything can be questioned. May we fully trust in the Bible and its historical accuracy.
“Lord Heavenly Father, we thank You for creating the heavens and the earth, and for all of the miracles You have accomplished throughout history and in our lives. May we never doubt You or the scriptures that sustain and purify our hearts and minds. We love You Father, we praise You, and we thank You, and we ask and pray all of these things, according to Your will, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.” God bless all of you!
